Having ummed and arred about what camera to take away with me, finally settled on the M10-P with a 28mm & 50mm.

I’m actually thinking of dumping all other cameras such as my Z7ii, ZFC & X100v in favour of keeping my M10 & buying a Q2 to solve this constant drama of what camera & lenses to take with me when I go away!

Sometimes the option of AF, EVF etc is tempting, particularly for holiday etc where time is an issue for snaps when the family are in tow. Being able to crop hard gives me more flex with a Q2.

(A very good bokeh, I think ... - It might be interesting to see the bokeh of the VOIGTLÄNDER Nokton 1/50. They seem to use ground aspherical lenses now. )

Forgive I couldn't be a.rsed to use a tripod and that I forgot the CV only has 90cm MFD so I had to move the camera, hence different framing

I guess the F1 ones look nicer maybe, rounder and with less fingerprint texture

My impressions: The Nokton has some internal structure in the bokeh balls, the Summilux not,
the Nokton has less outlines of the balls compared to the Summilux.

I would call it a draw ... ---

I'm not so sure about that....



That's 176% view, so hardly very relevant in real life

They both have texture in the specular highlights, although the Lux is more uniform. The CV is rounder and less cats eye like, but has more chromatic aberration, in fact the CV 50/1 might just be the 2022 world champion of chromatic aberration as it does it very heavily at the slightest provocation...

That's not to complain about it, I means it's an F1 non-APO optic with an FLE and ground glass that Fred Miranda tested against the Noctilux 0.95 and it won, whilst it costs less than a brand new 50 cron... it's outstanding for what it is and I was under no illusions about the drawbacks of super-fast lenses when I bought it.

Went to Leica store recently to ask about the macro adaptor.
135mm leitz -> normal shot with the 70cm or so distance - normal lighting


With the (700+ euro) adaptor that is essentially tubes but in a smoother motion... Store lit

Thank you very much, Adam. - I find the ring-like structures of the Summilux quite surprising. ---

Both are good lenses, in real life, I think.

(A Leica developer wrote somewhere "all lens designs are compromises". - A single property such as bokeh-ball smoothness should not be the single criterion when selecting
a lens, unless one is a street-life photographer, going out only at night, perhaps ... )
