Called in to see a friend employed by Maplins. He tells me he purchased a Canon lens from PC World, next store but one. It was very cheap, 50mm macro selling at 149 quid. When he examined it noting that it says 1:1 it isn`t really, you have to buy a converter for it, which is expensive. Naturally he took it back and got a refund.

macro and ultra close up...and micro
all have their pitfalls and £££ labels
sounded like a good deal at first

Surely any EOS user would have investigated the purchase before handing over their hard-earned

It's NOT Canon's fault, it is well publicised that this lens requires the convertor for 1:1.

If you saw a watch guaranteed to be accurate to within 1 second a year and you purchased it only to find the battery was an extra 100 quid you wouldn`t be to happy. Of course you being a true scotsman are averse to putting your hand into your sporran to get out a few bawbies.
