South-West England Old Sarum

Evening all.

A friend and myself are off to Old Sarum for an airshow in a couple of weeks time.

Any pointers/advice for this particular location please ??

This is also my first airshow, so any pointers for this type of photography please ??

Hi Paul,

I assume you have tickets as they're not available on the day.

Failing that....

If you check Google maps, you'll find the English Heritage site of Old Sarum quite close by. This has a free car park and a raised embankment affording views towards the airfield - and Salisbury come to that.
You'll need to decide yourselves if it's close enough.

It's usually open weekends - times on website, but I don't know whether any special arrangements will be in place for tomorrow, nor how popular it will prove to be.

I went to an "open day" at Sarum in 2008, lots of interesting light aircraft, my son used to do a little work there - you will get some great photo opportunities if it was as it was in 2008

parking was easy and lots of take off and landings

The hangers are quite "historic"
