On the Beach

I thought it was time I posted something on here again, I do still wander around with my macro lens

I took a walk on the beach yesterday and I liked these two, I'll be down there a fair bit through the summer so I may add a few on.

I like your composition on #2, but a touch more blue on the shell than I'd expect?

I like both of these particular the feather. Maybe crop a tad more off the top. I like the purple look on #2 kinda the colour I remember.

Thanks Paul ...that were at a nice angle on the rock .... Not sure why they look so blue ...I'll have to go back and look again

Thanks Bryn, yes I should have cropped the feather but I rather liked the colours in the seaweed and I resisted

I like the feather, but feel the same as Bryn about the crop. Nice to see the different aspect ratio with the second one. I'm using tall and thin more often these days (even taller and thinner than that sometimes). I would have been tempted to try taking a fraction off the top and the bottom of that one to give cleaner edges, and possibly also (a bit more controversial perhaps) some off the left hand side.

Hi Andy ....good to see you hopping in, just replied to Bryn above about the feather. The mussel was growing at that angle on the rock,I did rotate it just to see, but it doesn't look quite right any other way.

Hi Nick ....I think the feather's definitely in for a crop that's an interesting idea for the mussel, I'll definitely give it a try.
