Guys i was wondering if someone could recommend any online courses that would worth me doing? I a looking at something to take me from novice as far as possible. I don't mind paying for the right course but i would prefer to know that a course is decent before i splash out on it.

Also are there any bodies apart from SAAS that fund college courses in Scotland? I was kind of hoping to go to Glasgow Metropolitan College and have just been informed by SAAS that because i completed an HND in computing some years ago that i would not receive funding for any course below this level. This is a total pain as it was going to be hard enough to give up work and get by but there's not a chance i could afford to pay my own course fees too. :'(

I asked the same about a college course, I was told a few days out with this lot off here could teach you more than any college or course could teach me.

I have always been a firm believer in doing as a way of learning; so get your camera out and start using it. Look at your pictures and analyse them to find out what you like and dislike, then do more of those you like and try to find ways to impove the ones you don't like - different angle, different focal length, and so on.

Having said that, if you want to learn more about things such as exposure etc, there are some pretty good free podcasts to be found on iTunes for instance.

I have searched the net for all sorts of tutorials. Thee is plenty about if you search.

For the price of a book you could consider a DVD, such as this:

Never owned any of Karl's dvd's myself but have heard many speak highly of him.
