Online Entry systems for events

Hi,

Just thought I'd throw this one out to TP incase someone can offer any advice.

I'm looking for an decent online entry system for a motorsport series, but struggling to find anything other than Active Network (www.activenetwork.co.uk). Active Online is, as far as I know, the most successful company of its type, and I already use them for a mountain bike series, but I'm far from impressed by the backend system which is incredibly complicated to set up, and it is actually possible for registrants to pay for an entry without indicating which event they intend to enter, and it's also possible to enter numerous events, but only pay for one!

So I'm just looking for a simple online entry system which will allow registrants to enter any amount of the series' rounds, and must support different classes, and registrant types (adult, youth). Custom fields would be good too.

Anyone have any experience of such things?

Cheers
Oliver

Not very helpful to you, but the only motorsport events I know that accept online entries tend to use self written backends (usually php / mysql) with possibly a bit of paypal interfacing to handle online payments.

That obviously requires the organising motor club to have a resident geek with the requisite knowledge willing to devote the time. I only fulfill the geek part, I do too much php / mysql at work as it is, I'm not doing it for my hobby as well :p.

Cheers Mark. Yeah, I could set up a system on the website and it's something I'm considering. Just would prefer to go through a third party with its own payment system, rather than going the PayPal route.

I shall look into that option further though. :)
