Is there a noise removal software online which is free to use to remove the grain from my noisy pictures? Many thanks.

:)

How do I use it please?

I have this and I know it sounds silly but have you tried running it and going in to the "help" menu, where it tells you.

I never read instructions, run it load a pic and try different things, experiment, remember you can always go to the help menu.

Only just found it so a bit unsure.

Open Noiseware, then select open image, open the image you want to clean up, don't worry about altering any settings as default will work just fine and dandy, then click whatever makes it work (long time since I used a windows PC and I cannot remember the finer details sorry).

Once it has done it's job save the image.

Thanks will try that :)

"Neat Image" is another free one, Google it and you'll see it.

"Rawtherapee" is a free processing package that'll do RAW too, I don't know how good the noise reduction is but as it's free all it'll cost is your time to download it and give it a go.

Have you used Neat Image please?

Yes, I've also used Noisware Community but I ended up paying an arm and a leg for CS5 :bonk:

maybe if you posted the noisey image here- you'll get better advice once we've seen the problems youre having

Les :D

Did you notice the difference?

I personally find that CS5 is better for me but I do know that others claim to get good results from both Neat Image and Noiseware Community especially when doing a custom profile.

Actually I've had another idea... you could have a look at Photoshop Elements. You can download it and trial it free and then buy it if you want to keep using it and it's only £60 odd. I gave version 9 a go and was quite pleased with the results, the only downside being that most of the fixes seem to be auto rather than user controlled. Worth a try though and costs nothing to try.

Hi Aura, please do not take this to heart as I am trying to help you here. Ok having looked at a lot of your pictures the way I see it is this, you have some decent ones for somebody who is learning. There are also quite a lot of real bad ones, and those are suffering with noise. Imo using noise reduction software will not change these pictures into materpieces in fact it will probably frustrate you even more as it is not just a simple case of load the image and watch it come out all nice looking ;). The problem seems to be your camera, or not so much the camera but what I think you are trying to achieve with it, it looks like you are pushing it to the limit in some cases. Please correct me if I have this all wrong though. I see you are saving up for another camera which is good. I cannot advise too much as I do not know your circumstances, how much do you have saved up already, how old you are and do you have a part time or full time job even. If I were you I would try and be patient and save as much as you can for a few more months. Christmas is just around the corner so there is another little earner for you:thumbs: Just tell evgerybody you want cash alternatives this year. If I have looked at the right model of you Fuji it seems you do have some control over white balance aperture and shutter, these are the things you need to get a basic understanding of and experiment with, this will stand you in a very good position once you purchase your first DSLR or whatever you get. I hope this is of some help to you.

Hi hope you are well. I am still convinced by the The PEN E-PL1 as there is some good reviews about it on Photography blog. I see you are from bath, there's some nice arhictectiral buildings there. Do you know the PEN E-PL1? :)
