Quick funny story from today.
First bit of sunshine for a while and as part of my Adult Education Photography course, I have to have 6-12 A4's of "my favourite place" ready for next Wednesday. Given going to Cape Town / Western Cape would be a bit extravagant for just taking some pics, I thought I'd pop along to Southwold...... It's only about an hour or so away. (I got a load of good shots at dawn just before xmas - just needed a few more)
So, anyways, end up in one of the shops on the pier - Camera round neck, gripped etc (i.e. A real camera and to johnny public one that takes good photo's
) and amongst the other crap that such establishments tend to try to sell, this shop was selling framed photos for just under £100, and at the best, if I am feeling kind, they were average....... or average to goodish......... bit of a different composition and horizontal horizons would have helped........ maybe a bit of photoshopping to remove a single powerline going through the middle of the lighthouse, you get the idea.........
So I had a nose, trying to get a few more ideas......... and the lady comes over.......
"Would you like a hand? Is there anything you're interested in?"
"Just having a look at another Photographer's, work, but if I am being honest, I could take better myself."
"Oh. Most people think my husband is an excellent Photographer."
At this point:
Going to have to learn at aged 36, to not always say what I think............
