Before I go ballistic can any expert on OPANDA tell me how reliable it is?
I followed all the rules and downloaded it and it tells me that my D300 which should only have done a few actuations has in fact done nearly 7,000
I don't want to go into detail in public YET But I am worried
My suspicions were aroused when I downloaded the first batch of prints into the provided software on my computer. The camera was set to it's default of continous frame counting, The frame count started at somthing in the high six thousands and counted up from there on the 90 shots I had taken.
So on the advice of someone on this forum I tried OPANDA. Same result. anyone got any suggestions. The camera was mint as new in it's box and the accs were not opened.
I know that the only sure way is to get the camera off to the service agents but that costs time and money.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but did you format the memory card in the camera. I don't know why I'm suggesting this. But I'm sure I've read about something like this before.

Yes the new card was formatted but this does not make any difference if the camera is set to count continiously, you can set the camera to reset the count after a format.
Thanks for trying.

Sounds to me like it's done around 7000 actuations then which isn't a lot and less than 5% of the estimated life of the shutter at 150,000. That's not the point though. How many actuations were you told it had done?

Ok. It looks like it has done the 7000 cliks then. I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

Kev.

Make sure you are looking at the Opanda "Total Number of Shots" entry - this is always accurate for Nikon bodies (well anything after the D100)
