Opinions of New Website

Hi guys,

I’ve just about finished putting together my new website and I wondered whether I could gather some opinions on it. I’ve developed it from scratch so I’m also very interested in any problems or browser issues.

I have at least one element to finish which is the checkout integration with PayPal but that’s almost complete. The aspect which seems to be working very nicely is the Lightroom web-gallery export. One of my goals was to have it integrate simply into my Lightroom workflow with the least hassle.

I’d appreciate any constructive feedback.

Many thanks,
Andy.

The link to the portfolio isn't working for me :|

I'm not sure having such a large scroll down home page is a good thing the photograph of the Lighthouse in my mind should be larger with the text below it.

Some great images

Ah, thats interesting. Do you see the Portfolio drop-down or just the first level? I'm wondering whether that could be a CSS problem. Which browser are you using?

I'd remove most of the images from the home page and put them in a gallery. Lighthouse image and some text great but the rest isn't needed.

Some nice images in the galleries.

Hmm.. ok. I think you guys might be missing the point of a Photoblog. The idea is to have a continually changing front page updated with work as it happens. The lighthouse isn't a portfolio piece, simply a publication of an event significant to my work.

Cheers for the feedback though. Much appreciated.

Andy.

You didn't say it was a blog, you said a web site. As a blog fine but still a lot of images and I'd only show the best on the blog.

The link to the portfolio doesn't work.

I don't get a drop down, just clicking on the portfolio makes the menu disappear totally. Using Safari btw.

Even for a photoblog I find there are too many images on the front page, perhaps a maximum of say 3 images per post and a bit of text, then a link to a gallery with the rest of the images in

The front page is extremely long to scroll to the bottom to find there is no "top" link or any access to the menu.

The portfolio link's working now Andy....and a fine one it looks :) just using IE

Ah yes, I see. I've just installed Safari and I see what you mean. I'll look into that one. Thanks very much.

Ok, good idea. I'll try publishing the images to a gallery and link that from the blog post whilst including 2-3 top images in the post. That sounds worth a go. I suppose another possibility would be to enable my gallery viewer to work within a blog post.

"Top" link, good idea.

Cheers,
Andy.
