Just acquired a very scarce CANON LENS CONVERTER FD-EOS. I have an adapted M42 Hanimar (Tokina) 300/5 lens to try with the converter and a friend has a Canon FD 200/2.8. As soon as we have time to test the converter will use with EOS FF digital and Sony FF mirrorless cameras (with, and without adapter) - and compare results . The only compatible CANON FD lenses are: 200/1.8L, 200/2.8, 300/2.8L, 300/4, 300/4L, 400/2.8L, 400/4.5, 500/4.5L, 600/4.5, 800/5.6L, 50-300/4.5L, 85-300/4.5, 150-600/5.6L - which can accommodate the adapter's protruding front element. The 4 element adapter has a 1.26x magnification / extender factor - thus with e.g. my 550D any lens' focal length effectively doubles (1.26 x 1.6 = 2.016) The adapter was allegedly only offered during a short period to professional photographers when the Canon EOS 1 series was originally introduced.

Very rare beast indeed, good investment, should be worth some decent money in the US.

No plans to sell it; more interested in using the converter to ascertain performance and whether might be a viable tele-extender for use with mirrorless cameras e.g. my Leica T … for which have an EOS to TL/SL adapter.

That's an amazing niche product : I hope they pushed the boat out on quality for their 'abandoned' pro customers of the time.
Are you going to post samples in this thread?

Also plan to use it with 800mm f8 Samyang mirror lens which with a 1.6 crop factor EOS 550D will result in effective focal length of 800 x 1.26 x 1.6 = 1612mm .

Combination requires very secure tripod & head and 'self-timer' use to prevent camera shake.

Note 'stiff foam' wedge focusing lever (secured with rubber bands) to provide finer focus adjustment.

There's a T2 FD adapter screwed onto the Samyang lens plus the FD-EOS adapter.
