other compatable lenses

hi guys after watching certain lenses going for more than i can afford is there any other lenses that are compatable with the nikon d40x

Some more details may help...

What focal length are you looking for? Prime lenses or zoom lenses? Are you looking for lenses that will auto focus on your D40x? What is your budget?
 
well any really ...would be better if the auto focus was there....i kinda like close work ans well as distance ....i was looking at a telephoto lens to...im looking at building a good bit of kit...ive got the basic 18-55 that came with the camera but would like to have other lenses as i need them on hand if you get me

Sigma HSM lenses

Tamron now do some as well.

Just look for F mount lenses with inbuilt motors.

Okay, a bit of everything then!

You're not really going to get a 'one-size fits all' lens, what do you require in order of importance?

What is your budget?
 
well i like the idea of having a macro lens so i suppose that would take priority first ..then id like to get a tele lens after that...i love birds but because im a big lad cant really creep up on them :lol::lol::lol:budget is low ..all ive been doing is looking for lenses with worn bits to get them cheap....just so it gives me a bit of time to get the better condition ones....the d40x has really got me hooked so wanna get out there with everything i need
