Set camera to manual, meter sky and underexpose by the required amount with a combo of settings that keeps the shutterspeed at or below the sync speed. If your subject is large enough in the frame and fairly central, the flash's auto capability should do its job, otherwise rinse & repeat using flash exposure compensation or manual flash settings. Make sure you place a flaming orb in a blue sky behind the subject and add a vignette with Cokin filter or (more likely) digital wizardry back in your bunker.
