Page file problem

I keep getting an error balloon saying my page file is running out of memory or something along those lines, any ideas on how I improve it?

Win XP pro,

Any other data you require you will have to prompt me on how to find it as I am a bit of a windows numpty.

right click "my computer" -> "properties"

"advanced" tab -> performance "settings" button

"advanced" tab -> virtual memory "change" button

change it to "system managed size" then click the "set" button.

OK all the way out of the option boxes and restart. see if it happens now.

also might be worth checking your free disk space if it still happens.

I got two page files..one on C drive and another on second hard drive,managed by windows.
Did this a couple of days ago and pc(XP) seems to be a lot faster,not too sure if i should have done this..:shrug:

best just to have one on a 2nd physical (not partition) internal drive if you have that option available
