Thanks, must remember that!Hi all, I have had some problems with my GH4 with the shutter sticking so have had to revert to electronic shutter. Which is ok most of the time. I was not looking forward to the bill to have it repaired then I learned to bang it on your thigh. Low and behold a fully working shutter and no problems since.

You can hear the Howl.Do I believe such a story?
No, I really don't think I do.
Anyway, here's a Vulcan, which I doubt was hit with a hammer very often, if at all...

What cards are we talking about?I was comparing the save speeds of my cameras yesterday and I was surprised how much difference a new faster SD card makes... It's almost night and day and the cameras are little sports cars wit the faster cardI'm not a machine gunner but it still makes such a difference so I'm off to order 4 new ones

Awww. Now I gotta buy them!I use the scandisk extreme pro 170 mb/s but have the Lexar Professional 2000x ones (300 mb/s) in my S5 and in slot one on the G9.
What cards are we talking about?
I'm on Sandisk Extreme Pro 170mb/s.
I got mine on flea bay for £60 needed to try something very wide and fisheye a bit and absolutely loving itVery nice Mark.
I haven't got one of those. I have an Olympus 9-18mm but mostly use primes, at the mo the 14mm f2.5 seems to be my favourite. I'm going to read up on that 9mm though![]()
I just wait for them to be on sale on Amazon and use some vouchers I get to buy a few now and again. I've got a couple of the 64gb ones but most are the 32 GB ones (does me).
When I go to Disney next year I'm just going to buy 5/6 of the Scandisk extreme pro ones (happy with 32 GB if they are cheap) to take with me
Yeah, class 4 cards were probably current then.Posting the above reminded me of when I worked for Systime and for a time fixed CDC SMD drives. My Gosh. How things have moved on![]()

What's the Olympus 9-18mm like? Price / performance
I’m thinking of putting my Panasonic Leica 8-18 up for sale in favour of the new 9mm …People seem to go for the Panasonic equivalent …..
I thought about that too, but keep thinking do I really need a fast uwa lens.I’m thinking of putting my Panasonic Leica 8-18 up for sale in favour of the new 9mm …
I find that, as with many zooms, I use the 8-18 either at 8mm or 18mm. The 18mm is covered by the 12-60 PanaLeica, and 9mm is not too far from 8mm but a darned sight lighter and less bulky, not to mention faster for when I get round to doing night skies. If I do need uwa, 9mm is perfect.I thought about that too, but keep thinking do I really need a fast uwa lens.
Decided for now to keep the zoom mainly for the versatlity and the 8mm/2.8 is ok for night skies.
I do mainly agree although having just checked a lot of my photos with this lens are at 10mm.I find that, as with many zooms, I use the 8-18 either at 8mm or 18mm. That could replace my 7-14 very nicely.
7 & 8mm are too wide, distorted at the edges. 12, 13, 14mm are covered very nicely by the 12-60 lens.
9mm is the ultimate ultra wide angle.
I keep old ones for firmware updates.I got my new 32gb class 10 memory cards today and I now have them in my Sony A7 and my Panasonic GX9, GX80, GM5 and TZ100. They really do speed things up over those old class 4's. That's £31.96 well spent
I'll keep the old ones has spares. I also found I had two old 8gb cards in a drawer.
