I absolutely love that 1st shot, nowt wrong with the second mind but I would be very chuffed to get a shot like that.

first shot is definitely the better of the 2 ! but i cant tell you why ! lol

2nd shot isnt bad, but doesnt have the same impact as the first one !

I put it down to the clouds in the 1st leading you into the shot....oh & they're quite imposing

Like the first also - range of tones in the clouds from very dark greys to whites looks very impressive, contrasts well with the yellow

I agree. I think it's because the stalks in the foreground of the 2nd pic act as a sort of barrier, whereas with the first shot, the blooms fill the foreground and the shot works far better with the eye being led into the shot more naturally.

I can't say I have ever had a problem with stalks before!!!

Great shot Janice, the first one. I agree with CT and Ian about the second.

I've been dying to pop up to Essex and capture those fields and fields of yellow rape seed flower, there's some very large vistas to be had I'm hoping.

Fantastic Janice! Don't you just love it when you get a temprimental day where you end up with dark and moody skies with flashes of sunshine. And those Rape fields - I've got my eye on a few round our way as they're brilliant for this sort of shot.
