Perseid Meteor Shower - Advice Please

Chatting to a lad at work today and he mentioned about the Perseid Meteor Shower, i quite like the idea of going to watch it, but thought i might as well take my camera, but i have never attempted this kind of thing before, so any advice for a novice night sky photographer

I am assuming high ISO, large aperture, long exposure time

We are planning going out into the country side so as to reduce any ambient lighting

As for settings, I would say have a look at Matts guide to star trails and then go from there
