Phone Photos

I've had two cameras stolen this year, as such I'm stuck with the phone on my camera that I have borrowed after my phone was stolen. I'm sure the photos on the phone aren't amazing. But being able to take photos at all is enough to make me happy.

Having a prime lens (lol) means that when I am taking photos with it I am always running like a demented madman trying to find the best angles and distance. The limitations of a camera phone (full auto whether you like it or not) also mean I have been spending a lot more time thinking about composition and what about the subject I find interesting than ever before, meaning that I'm taking time to find that interesting curve that caught my eye or the check/checkplate pattern of my friend against a steel box.

The problem, cause I can't think of any solutions. For some reason the phone's bluetooth doesn't work properly and I can't send the photos to anyone, also the photos don't get picked up by my computer. I've just realised I have all these photos I'd love to keep, but not a clue how to do so.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Spend a couple I'd quid on a card reader then stick them one your computer. Easy. I got a reader off ebay dead cheap that has SD, micro SD inputs. When I can't be bothered plugging my phone into the computer with the usb I'll use the card reader to transfer photos, music etc.

Can you email from the phone? Or maybe upload to something like Facebook & download on to your computer? Do you have a photo box account? You can text/MMS photos to upload them? If you can out a micro-SD card in the phone you should be able to save then from the phone's memory onto the card & transfer as normal, or failing that, get a lead for data transfer

Ps - why so many thefts?

I'm working in Cape Town and sharing with a house with of 11 other guys, I think it's people that I'm staying with, but can't prove anything.

Should have said volunteering, rather than working. 100 Quid is about 100 quid outside my budget, lol

The second stolen camera was a P+S

End of the year I've been promised a nice new camera though for christmas by some loving family. So there's about a 50% chance :D

Some phones are funny and need further software loaded onto your computer. I'd search on the make and model and see whether other people have the same problem. You also need the correct usb lead also as some look exactly the same but aren't with certain manufacturers.

There are funnies with bluetooth too. Are the phone and the computer paired up properly? Can you sync the calendar on the phone to the computer?

Let's hope you get the thefts sorted out before the new camera arrives. Two cameras and a phone must be really annoying, especially the loss of images that can't be repeated.

Luckily there were very few photos on the cameras. I finally managed to borrow an SD card and have gotten the photos off of my phone onto flickr after emailing and MMSing and all sorts, not done any editing of them yet. http://www.flickr.com/photos/skipsh/6326102816/in/set-72157628084016512/ are the best of them I think if anyone is curious.

Phone is a Samsung GT-B3310 (Beggars can't be choosers) it's camera has a whole 2mp.

The theft situation will be sorted as by next year I should be in Edinburgh rather than Cape Town.
