I am heading off to La Palma, Spain from the UK. I have regular travel insurance, but my camera equipment is not covered, being too high value. Can anyone recommend a company that would do a single trip insurance for camera equipment? What do you do in these circumstances?

Single I cannot say but kit cover I use Aaduki which is with Hiscox insurance.
Have you asked/checked whether your household contents insurance will cover such single trips?

Check out Eversure or Photoguard. They both do short-term or single-trip cover specifically for photography gear and are usually much better than standard travel insurance for high-value kits.Alternatively, if you have home insurance, it's worth checking if you can just add "personal possessions" cover for outside the home—sometimes it's cheaper than a separate policy.
