Hi guys

I have a couple for who I am doing a pre wedding shoot for. We thought it may be a good idea to get some shots with the Olympic park being the backdrop.

Does anyone know where there are some good views of the London Olympic stadiums? so that the statiums/park can be the back drop for the shoot? I have emailed them directly to request permission to shoot within the grounds however I am not sure whether this will be allowed.

I look forward to hearing from you guys

Thanks in advance.

Security has been tightened around the Olympic park in the past few weeks, several places that were quite close with public access are now out of bounds.

There are some residential towers blocks in Stratford that have good views over the site, but you would have to wangle a way in.

The new Stratford Westfield shopping centre has views from some areas but not sure how good they are or how happy they would be with the photography given the atttiude of most shopping centres to photography in general.

Thanks David i thought as much. I did a shoot in Greenwich park yesterday and was told we need permission to shoot there. so had to leave. This time I am trying to get it planned before hand.

Well the bride and groom thought being that its the Olympic year they have some shots at the Olympic park or that as its backdrop. (i guess its something different).

A bit late now but this would have been the place to go.

They have an upstairs viewing gallery/function room with a fanstastic view of the stadium.

Nice cafe as well.

most of the parks from what I have seen still having fences and walls around them, so dont think you could get a decent shot.
If your close to Greenwich, try HaHa Road in Woolwich... A stadium thing on the common, and if that doesnt work, some in the woolwich barracks, and if that fails, you could get some nice pictures with the barracks in the background
