I'm looking at purchasing a Domain and hosting package (with gallery) which allows E-commerce transactions. I don't have time to build a site, although I have done a few in the past.
I've had a good search on TP but failed to find a decisive solution.

Can anyone help out with this please, a few hosting companies names would be great.

Thanks, Gary

I don't know if this is quite what your after - but Smugmug do a pro account which is in your name (ie www.you.com - no mention of smugmug), and then you can customise the page you want, set up password protected galleries, and put a right click ban on photos. They also have a purchase option too.

They are based in the States, so I have no idea if the images are printed in the states then mailed over here, but I have found them to be great at replying to e-mail queries!

if you take a look here, it will tell you more: http://www.smugmug.com/photos/best-photo-sharing/

Hope that helps

Just a minor point but don't take security options like no right-clicking as an excuse not to watermark - if someone can SEE your photos then they can save a copy of them.

Yep, well said -- completely agreed.

Two I use are:

Zenfolio
Very nice user interface but does not support GBP at the moment. Supposed to be introducing other currencies shortly. Restrictive layouts but the ones they have are quite good.

Photoshelter
Supports alternative currencies and can customise layout.

I currently use Zenfolio to display the images and link to Photoshelter for the sales integration. A bit of a kludge but it works.

I am in the process of redeveloping my sites to use Fotoplayer and basically take out the middleman. I have had significant problems with users grabbing images by right clicking etc. As Fotoplayer is flash based this should reduce the number of 'thefts'. Fotoplayer also has an integrated cart which supports GBP.

Another + for Photium. Very good service and the support is excellent.

Only real negative, if you could call it as such, is the similarity of sites from template based hosting. Your pages are customizable but you can usually tell instantly its a Photium site.

I use ifp3.com it's flash based and links to Paypal (regardless of good or bad!) and within the price is unlimited diskspace/bandwidth!

With Fotopic, you are aware of this in their T&C's:-

1. For purposes of the TOS, "publicly accessible areas" of the Service are those accessible by the general public. By way of example, a publicly accessible area of the Service would include public Fotopic Galleries, Albums, Collections, Photographs and Message Boards.
2. With respect to Content you elect to post for inclusion in publicly accessible areas of Fotopic Galleries or that consists of photos or other graphics you elect to post to any other publicly accessible area of the Service, you grant Fotopic a world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive licence to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish such Content on the Service solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting the specific Fotopic Service to which such Content was submitted, or, in the case of photos or graphics, solely for the purpose for which such photo or graphic was submitted to the Service. This licence exists only for as long as you elect to continue to include such Content on the Service and shall be terminated at the time you delete such Content from the Service.
3. With respect to all other Content you elect to post to other publicly accessible areas of the Service, you grant Fotopic the royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sub-licensable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed, in the course of providing and promoting the Service.

They can make money from your photos and not pay you!!!!!!!!!

Aren't most image hosting sites similar?

I've started the Photium trial for now, see how I like it and go from there. I could probably build my own site and use a script for the gallery/payments etc. but it's too much time intensive currently.

Thanks for the heads up on the T&C's.

Nice site carl and cool photos, not sure about the pop up though ! Also I notice that you've spelt 'Photograhy' wrong on the title of the popup. Not the menu but the containing page. Just a small poiint !

I second (or third depending on what you read) Photium.

I love it, it is very customisable, and apart from the sometimes confusing back-end menu) i can do pretty much everything i want. Well worth the ££'s a year i pay for it.

Have a go at the free trial and i guarantee it will make your final 3 of possibles.

Cheers, fixed it! And changed it slightly!
