I think some of the issue is that on a forum you can't interpret someones tone (you can take a guess and assume the worse). Certainly for newer members, myself included, you dont really know all the personalities so it's easy to read something in a manner that it wasn't actually meant

Seriously Pete, I don`t mind if people ask questions and if I can help them, I most certainly will. It is those people who think i`m interested in their in growing toenails that annoy me..............for example......![]()

I was photographing a carnival here in the East Midlands and found a lovely low short wall to stand on facing length ways to the subject which allowed me to get reasonably high views. Suddenly, this reasonably old women with a DSLR gets up onto the wall and stands right in front of me entirely blocking my view. Then when she decided she wanted a new view, she got her husband to keep the spot warm! I got so annoyed.
Photography by its very nature is a solo hobby and interpersonal skills are not required...
I think i might deign to consult a deity about that rule,or maybe a sovereign, i wouldn't want a surfeit of misconception about the science of spelling to cause a seismic shock in my posting , it might make me forfeit a heifer to my neighbour, or cause me to make a cunning feint towards the dictionary, and either would be a heavy weight to bear.

Excellent!
So how many hours did it take you to find the exceptions to the rule?

Not being rude, but you've got to be joking haven't you?
I appreciate that there are multiple genres of photography, but interpersonal skills is one of the most important aspects of my job (believe it or not).
@NeilMc Your post was an intriguing read & I think your perception is spot on :} Photography is & always will be a highly personal thing to do.

I can appreciate if you do weddings, family portraits etc, but the original poster isnt talking about doing that kind of thing
He is also talking about other photographers.
NOT subjects.
I don't understand the snobbery in photography. It's not what you have, or what you use, it's what you can create no matter how much it cost. I've found this forum amazing for advice & guidance but I've come across many rude photographers outside of Talk Photography.
Hi,
Even on these forums theres allot of snobby rude people who are probably brilliant photographers but they talk so rudely on the forums.
London Headshots said:I agree with this. It's one of the main reasons I took so long to register on here, despite reading it for years. Only part I disagree with is the brilliant photographers part. In my experience, the worse people are on here, the worse their work is.
I've been here a few weeks and have already run into a lot of backbiting, snobbery and general bitterness. For the most part, the people on here are great, which is why the less wholesome people really stand out.
Bear in mind that if you notice it, it means you aren't doing it, which means you're doing it right. That's all that counts.
Welcome!
2 important features of the forum, the Report Post function to report posts you find rude or abrupt, and the Ignore function to stop seeing the rude people!
Excellent!
