I am thinking of doing one of those photographic holidays either this summer or early next year, (depending on money). I have been hooked on focus-gambia which deliver a weeks intensive tutorial in the country. I was wondering if anyone has used this company, or any other ones that they recomend, particularly Africa.

Also if anyone would be interested in going on a photographic trip such as this, or perhaps a diy version, then maybe we could arrange something.

I can see why they're appealing..but personally, if I were flying half way round the world..I'd want to be sure of my abilities before I left as to maximise my time there..a week isn't that long, especially if you end up re-learning things!

Yeah, I think I'd brush up and then just book a normal holiday to be honest.

I have been to such places before (always with either my girlfriend or uni friends) but at present no one i know seems interested in doing such a trip, therefore i concluded it would be best to go on a photographic trip.
I am no stranger to travelling and have been to many places including Mongolia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and Sierra Leone. These trips were done with at least one other person.

I have now broken up with my girlfriend and i am in my last year of uni, ideally i would rather go with other people, not just for safety. My ex was into photography, but most of my friends are not and on my trip to Mongolia some of them got annoyed because i kept stopping to take photos.

I have complete faith in my abilities and would much rather do my own holiday, but i am unsure about travelling, alone, through Africa with £5000 worth of equiptment on my back. That is why i ask if anyone in a similar situ to me would think about joining forces for a trip to Africa.
