Hi all

I need to pick some brains, as mine have gone ALL

In the 70's and early 80's there used to be a large mail order photographic equipment supplier, based IIRC in Godalming Surrey, they used to produce an A5 catalogue of all those little things needed at the time for photography.

Obviously long gone now, but can anyone remember what they were called.

Thanks

Paul

How annoying - the name escapes me. I recall buying lens reversing rings and step/down rings from a firm in Godalming. I am sure their advert was in Practical Photography at the time.

God I visited their shop a few times with my stepfather ! We lived in petersfield and so Guildford / godalming was only up the road! Great place !

Driving along the motorway it just came to me from the depths of knowhere

Pollysales

Urgggggh! ............ That name means nowt to me so I am still wondering who I bought from :banghead:

Sure? It seems Polysales were indeed in Godalming:

Their catalogue was called the Pocketbook:

Speedgraphic, who are still going (and have one of the best selection of accessories in the UK) also used to produce a great little catalogue, but they've only been around since the 90s:

Could it have been from one of the Photomarkets shops? They seemed to have branches everywhere in the early 80s?
