27.10 was smoking hot garbage if you expected any form of color management. That's really a must given it is not MS Paint form 2004.

Open as layers - broken.

27.11 color management workaround added. You must disable "Precise color management for HDR display" or it will still display nonsense like you had never calibrated your display.

open as layers still broken.

I am so excited about AI assisted mode! No, not really. What a piece of junk. ChatGPT or Gemini work a lot better natively than any of this firefly business, even if you select gemini models. LOL

Sadly Adobe have something of a habit of adding some new feature, and breaking three existing features that worked perfectly for years.

I heard some nasty things about Premiere, but never really used it. I haven't seen beta quality releases in LRC or PS until this year. There were some minor bugs here and there in lightroom but nothing of this magnitude.

Software from a one-man band using AI sounds like a nightmare scenario to me!
This could go many ways: A) he gets bored quickly, B) AI gets even better and becomes proactive at maintenance and adding features. Eventually we are getting there, C) more devs jump on board (this is OSS repo), and this takes off with or without AI.
I am rooting for C. Oss >> closed.

this could be a windows thing but more likely 27.11. " x " key just bounces with zero effect. Also some other keys. It does become operative after ALT-TAB to another app and back. Every single time. Very annoying.

I don't know if the *Craft Adobe clones are a "one-man band" or a group of people, use AI or not, but they seem to be getting amazing results very quickly.

'They' have recreated 7 Adobe apps, which seems a lot for a "one-man band", when 1 would have been impressive on its own. That they all work to a surprisingly good degree already from the YT videos I have seen, and made them work on Mac OS, Windows and Linux is wow! I'm not sure Adobe have made their apps work on Linux from the video I saw on YT.

The *Craft apps seem to be getting frequent updates so far, yet it seems Adobe updates something and breaks a lot of things. For the money they are making, there should be little excuse for updates breaking things.

I really do not know what you are fussing about. I am right up-to-date with my LR Classic and PS on W11 but have no issues at all.

today we learned that AI has replicated much of Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite. ArtCraft is a small, two-person repository on GitHub that’s doing the rounds in the dev community that arrived seemingly from nowhere a week ago with an awful lot of code across a lot of projects ...

Two humans cannot generate this much code in such a short amount of time, or even a lifetime, suggesting that it’s entirely AI built. But how? Your author’s background before this was software engineering and I know how hard this stuff is. It would take quite some work for AI to build these tools. I’d like to fully test them, but there’s no way in hell I’m going to let vibe coded anything run on my computer with disk access. I have trust issues.
