Pic(s) you took today - an open thread

Not a good sign though out and about at this time of the year. :(
They are fine, I feed them every night with meat mealworms various seed, etc,
Mum moved in and had litter of 5, 3 young stayed the rest appear to have moved on. They have a nice warm bag, stuffed with all sorts, against the house.

I thought that they were meant to hibernate over winter?

Most wild animals ( that do) hibernate is due to the lack of food, and cold temperatures, to conserve energy.
While there is plenty of food and a "warm" shelter they have no need to.

I took this yesterday but we had a power cut and then the internet was down until bed time so hopefully this snap is allowed here at a pinch :D

We went to plant some tulip bulbs on a family grave and on the way home this scene caught my eye. I liked the light and shadow on the war memorial, the path behind leading into light and the winter colours. A path to a better place maybe?

The memorial isn't straight and I do have to keep reminding myself not to tilt the camera to get it straight.
