I live within a stones throw of the BAe/Rolls Royce site at Filton (Bristol) and it was their employees open day today, which I forgot about - big mistake.

Imagine my frustration as wifey drags me off to visit her mother in hospital at about 2pm just as the Airbus A380 starts a low level display :gag: My frustration grew as we drove past the end of the runway and the A380 made a landing approach and passed directly above my car :bang: only to power up and fly off again, making slow turns with the sun glinting off the fuselage :shake:

I was in a foul mood all through the visit to MIL and things didn't improve when we're driving home and the Vulcan hoves into view directly ahead of us :bonk: By the time we got home all the flying appeared to have finished so I settled down with a coffee to simmer nicely until tea time.

Then there's a noise of big engines being pushed to take-off thrust and I rush outsid just in time to see the A380 disappear off back to France - burger! Back to the coffee .... and miss the Vulcan heading off home too :bonk::bonk:

Not a happy bunny

Do you ever have those days when you just know you should have stayed in bed?

Ah no that's bad. I feel for you. :(

My similar story - when the Boeing 787 did a flypast at East Midlands and RR Derby I went out to see it at the airport as I live nearby. Got there and in a good position, switched my camera on only to realise I had left my memory card at home and I didn't have a spare!!!! I was in a bad mood for a good while after that. :gag:

Both aircraft also performed and landed at Kemble for the BoB airday. My Dad offered me free tickets but I turned them down as wifey wanted to go shopping....

Why do we listen to them????
