Yes
Hi I bought a memory card from comet a couple of weeks ago it's a PNY professional c10 8gb 20mb/s, I don't no much about them but I bought it *** it was cheaper than the other ones available!!
Anyway it's been ok but I've just tried uploading my photos and it failed on every photo! It can't be the reader because I'm using my printer as my card reader is broken so the one in printer is unused!!
So does it sound like I have a faulty card?

It *could* be the one in the printer that can't cope with SDHC (ie. bigger than 2GB) cards...

I have a 16Gb PNY professional class 10 card (20MB/s). Its definitely not as fast as my sandisk cards, but they are rated at 30MB/s. Never had it fail to read an image to the computer or had a single corrupted image.
Does sound like you have a duff card.
This said my old laptop wont recognise the 16Gb card at all, but its fine with 4Gb cards. Don't have any 8Gb ones.

Confused!! My laptop is a MacBook so that shouldn't be a problem and the printer is a canon!
It must be the card because it uploaded ok before!

Does it work in the camera? Whether the printer is Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark, Dell, ... doesn't make a blind bit of difference if the reader is not capable of reading >2GB, it won't read it.

It works in camera! But what I'm saying is that I have taken pics and uploaded them with no problems and now nothing!!

Have you tried uploading the photos by connecting the camera to the computer by USB lead. If it transfers that way then I would think it's a SDHC size incompatability. I've had a PNY 4Gb card floating about for a few years and it gets used now and again in quite a few different cameras, about 6 in all. Once it's been formatted in each camera it works perfectly.

No I haven't tried that! I'll give it a go tomorrow when I've taken some more pics as I just formatted the card now! Good idea!!

Got 4 PNY cards - all work ok in my D7000. As mentioned before - could be something to do with the card reader.

check the card reader is marked SDHC not just SD, I fell foul to this ages ago when sdhc first came out, my 2G read ok, but my nice new shiny 4g woudn't. the card reader was not SDHC.

Did you buy the card from a genuine outlet? There are a lot of fake cards that can corrupt images.

mjb123,
I found the following on the TP site (I think). I have not used it, but it may be of help to you.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml

Once you've got your images off at least OP! :)
Yes, first I'd just check your card readers are up to SDHC specs - how old is your printer and Macbook?

I had a PNY Professional 16GB card too, ordered from Play.com so it should have been genuine. Like others here, it was definitely slower than my Sandisks, but didn't corrupt images. And repeated runs with H2Testw backed this up.

It might also help trying to do a Low-Level format from within the camera as well once you've got your images off. Just to see whether that might help.

Ok my printer is a canon mp610 my MacBook is about 4 years old, the card port on printer just says sd next to it so I'm assuming it's not compatible, which is odd because I have successfully uploaded pictures previously!!
Anyway this is by the by because I just tried uploading pictures straight from camera and that failed! Back to comet I think and may just stick to sandisk!!!

Just replaced it with a sandisk extreme for same price as I payed for PNY!!!
Thanks everyone for help!!

Ok, there seems to be another reason for the card to be not uploading!
As I've just tried uploading pictures from my new sandisk at that's not working either!!
When I plug the camera into the computer the pictures come up on screen and you have the option to upload so click on upload and it starts going through the process of uploading but no image comes up on screen, at the end of uploading it says the following.
The following files could not be imported ( they may be an unrecognised file type or the files may not contain valid data)

Has anyone got any ideas for the reason why this has started happening??

Hmmm, that doesn't sound too good. Have you, or can you try the card in another computer or more importantly another camera. I've got a 60D and a 5D3 and I've used a Duracell SDHC card in both of them with no problems.
If the camera is doing the same thing with a new card and having problems uploading from USB I'd be thinking you have a problem with the camera and not the card. If you're anywhere close to Lincoln feel free to call in for a test session.

That's not good to hear I only bought the camera a couple of weeks ago from panamoz! I'll try uploading the pictures on a different computer tomorrow!!

Think I've cracked it! It turns out my computer won't upload a raw file, gone back to L jpeg works fine now!!
Why won't my computer recognise raw??

I am not 100% sure as I am more of a windows man. But I spoke to mate of mine who said it can be, but there maybe a cost involved.

Otherwise best thing to do is to look for some free software on the web which supports the 60d.

Sorry - not much help am i.

Ordered snow leopard £25 then when I've got that I can order aperture I think bubba the apple tech recommended for £50!! Then I'll be up to date!!
