Yes
Found it highly annoying how Adele got cut short for her speech on the brits last night, when it was probably the most important award of the show, only for a bunch of old has beens start shouting out a really old song that sounded like a bunch of badly out of tune drunk football hooligans, not before they originally got to spend ages on stage thanking half the planet and hogging the show. Poor Adele, they should have given her more time, after all its not like the show was live for gods sake. Blur really were terrible

i didn't watch it, but anytime adele is limited from speaking is a good thing in my opinion. I can't stand her accent and the way she talks.

Adele has a filthy mouth, glad she was gagged.

it must be so hard being perfect, you need to watch it, if you point your nose up any further up than it is now, you could cause permenant damage to the back of your neck :)

George Michael looked like he downed a few when he went on stage, messed up his words a few times.

i love adeles accent, it always makes me chuckle how someone that normally sounds that way can have such a fantastic singing voice.

She isn't normal, she is crude and foul mouthed and if you think that is normal, I fear for the future of our society.

please explain what you mean.

Because I can't stand her accent I am snooty? How does that work exactly?

I just watched it, yes it was awkward to cut her off. But I'm still glad people don't have to hear her irritating voice.

i think there are far more worrying things in this world than a couple of "bad" words in a sentance or three.

like archamedes i find the level of snobbiness far more offensive.

how does finding someones voice irritating make you a snob exactly?

Whether or not you find her or her voice irritating, it was very strange that they spent the whole of the show building up the "album of the year" award the be the most prestigious, then go and cut the winner off before she'd even had a chance to thank anyone.

yes. I agree it was rude and odd, and very awkward.

Was only watching it in the background but it was very odd. The whole show was a bit odd really. Who was it that won something that was announced really quickly by James Corden and the camera cut to her for a split second then he sat and talked to the winner from last year....was very odd!

Interestingly Corden was also saying how stupid he thought it was that he was told to cut Adele off on the ITV2 show.

Blur were shocking too! They seemed to get better when it went to ITV2 and they did some of the more modern slower songs, but Song 2 was just painful.

I think tom is referring to the fact that she can rarely string 5 words together without swearing

well in last nights show the only words she did manage to get to say were that she was proud to be british and to be flying the flag. She was just about to do her thank yous then James Corden came in and completely cut her off. Yet Blur who really aren't top of the pops at the moment or for a long while come to think of it. But they spent forever rambling on stage, if anyone should have been cut short it should have been them, especially when their final performance could only be described as drunk yobs shouting at a football match and hardly any of it was in tune.

I'd blame ITV (everything they touch turns to turds) and the contracts that people insist on to do these things. Mind you I can't stand Adele and her whining, dreary songs so don't really give a toss about it. Or the Brits for that matter!

Adele has been ill hasn't she? Her performance seemed lack lustre and her voice seemed a lot different. Last uears performance was spectacular and this years seemed as though she just wanted to get throgh the song.

I love adele's music personally. I agree that she shouldn't have been cut off. She clearly wasn't going to 'f&blind' on stage so it doesn't matter if she's got a potty mouth elsewhere, IMO.

I think Sir Christopf Evans had the right idea this morning.

give Adele a min or two for the speech and then as behind time, fade out the 3rd blur song......

Instead it looked a shambles (so I hear, and Cordon was flat on his ar*e)

not sure why you quoted me in that response. This doesn't really have anything to do with Adele's habit of swearing and having a foul mouth.

I watched it on youtube and blur were poor it has to be said. I'd have preferred adele to sing a sing rather than blur, but I'd rather hear anyone else actually speak than her. It's like amy winehouse - great voice when she was singing but incedibly irritating when she spoke.

I know what you mean, she may be annoying when she talks, but that's her. That's part of what makes her what she is.

Last night though, I don't think she was too bad - so I don't really see why you wouldn't want to hear what she's got to say.

First time I had heard her speak was on the news this morning, can understand why they didn't want to hear that much of it

Not even sure where her accent originates from, but it's very annoying

she didn't really get a chance to annoy though because she hardly said anything.

It's not what she says that annoys me, it's just her accent and the way she talks that I don't want to hear. I feel as though she puts on this really awful made up london accent. My dad's from dagenham, i'm from a really common part of kent, most of the people I know and are in my family are all from in and around east and north london.

Nobody I know speaks like her, I just find it grates on me even more than a child winging (spelling?) which was voted the most irritating noise in the world

I think I heard one interview with Adele and concluded she's a bit 'fake' and can't help but feel that if she looked a bit more like your average 'pop princess' rather than 'bigger than average pop princess' she'd have been ignored by the media and we wouldn't really be talking about her

shes from tottenham, my ex came from there and she had the same accent too so its not made up. But I don't see the big deal about the swearing thing, so what, they are just words, It doesnt make her a bad person. I'm sure you have all sworn at some point or another.

Just had a quick butchers on wiki and seems she moved from north london to brighton, still sounds fake to me, my wife comes from Stoke Newington and talks nothing like that.

I know that she's from tottenham. That's why I commented that most of my family and friends etc are from east and north London. The standard accent in tottenham isn't like adeles. She excentuates it in my opinion because earlier in her career it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it is now. She deliberately puts it on now more because it's one of her "quirks"

Just listened to the Brit thing now.
I lived around Crouch End, Hornsey and Walthamstow over a 4 year period and can say that she does sound like many of the white kids who seem to imitate their Carribean friends. I even notice it in Manchester now.

it's street talk, innit!

Saying you don't like someone because you don't like their voice, or accent is pretty shallow in my opinion. It doesn't matter if its fake or put on, the person shouldnt be treated any different. After all you could say Stephen hawking has an annoying fake voice, so does that make him a bad person? I'm not trying to be insensitive or deliberatly over the top with someone who has a medical condition such as professor hawking, but just using it as a very loose example.

Or now she has made it she can relax and be herself???

like Lily Allen started off being a complete rebel to get noticed, then as time went on she calmed down and did her own thing.

I just watched a video on youtube expecting some odd accent and got a london/sarf london accent.

I'm used to her accent like being from Croydon innit, loads of people talk like it like, its just the way it is like. ;)

Well in all honesty the only points people are using as arguements to say they do not like nor care for her are

a. Her voice
b. Her accent
c. She swears.

At no point has anyone given any other reason or explanation, like for example shes a bad person because she beats kids or has joined the bnp. It just seems like a poor shallow arguement to attack someone because of how they sound
