Hi, wondered if anyone can give me some advice? I've got two cousins who have just taken up archery. They want me to take a nice photo of them proudly holding their bows. Can anyone suggest a good pose to put them in?

Thanks in advance!

Why not reportage style? Shoot from in front and slightly to the side with them taking aim past you? Or slightly more traditional would be cradling the bow at a diagonal across the chest.

Thanks for that! I also thought that placing them higher up than me might be effective.

I've searched online for poses, but can only find poses for one person, couples or groups!

Usually I think you would be slightly behind one, and below the elbow in the left-hand third, whilst framing the other at around the right hand third, covering maybe 50% of the frame.
You wouldn't usually be in front of or on the firing line if they have an arrow on the bow. :nono:

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Riding Through The Glen (*sing with me)
on a serious note you could have a field day with this, there are many shots out there featuring archers, both posed just holding the bows or looking like they are about to let a volley go.

The one shot that imediatly comes to mind with the most punch though is a close up, head shoulders near face on but slightly off center showing entire face, front of bow and arrow tip about to be fired with a shallow depth of field.

Have a look at this.

From the side, taking aim, with the first away slightly further forward than the other so both are in shot.

Hope they are good so you don't get shot!
