Hi,
I recently got a particularly nasty virus on my laptop, Windows Antivirus 2012. It was a real hassle to get rid of. The only way I can think I got it was I accepted a contact request on Flickr from Edeelay photography via email. After I accepted the request I realized they have no photographs on their profile so was a bit suspicious. When I next switched on the laptop the virus was there.
Maybe it was something else but has anyone else had this issue??
 
Cheers mate. I managed to sort it out the day it happened (with malwarebytes coincidentally). My concern was that the virus may have been embedded in the link sent by the Flickr account. Not sure how viruses work tbh but thought I would share it in case anyone else gets the same thing.
 
I can't see how you could get anything from flickr unless from a fake flickr site (ie f1ckr). You wouldn't get infected from jpegs viewed in a web browser and I don't see much that flickr would do beyond that.
