Really sorry but there is a lot of noise in this shot. Can I ask why the ISO was so high?

ISO was high as ambient light was poor and I had no flash. No noise reduction took place in PP and black and white favours showing noise more than colour

This was taken at a local camera club meeting I went to last night with my 5D and 100mm F/2, where we were shooting with lights and background. Only ever shot with lights once before.

It's cropped heavily, and a little bit of processing in LR...
