My niece's husband has a problem.
He installed Skype to chat with a friend who didn't have messenger and since then he has got several problems, even though he has now un-installed Skype.
Firstly his webcam (a Microsoft Live Cam VX 2000) has stopped working even though it works when plugged into his wife's laptop.
The sound still works but when he plugs it in he gets the message "initialisation error."
He has tried un-installing and re-installing the Webcam but still the same results.
Secondly the computer has become slower at starting up with the desktop appearing but the icons and the quick launch toolbar taking up to a minute to appear.
All this has happened since he installed Skype.
He is running XP Pro with SP 3.
He has run System Mechanic but to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas or has heard of this before?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
