I'm doing a project for college on forgotten things...

I'm struggling a bit for inspiration (apart from the usual derelict buildings & dead flowers etc)

what does 'forgotten' mean to you?

thanks

Summat like this maybe?

I once saw a beautifully made small wooden seat in a churchyard with a brass plaque saying,

"In Loving Memory of...."

...the wood was rotten and thick moss grew all over the seat. It was so sad and the juxtaposition was sublime

Forgotten!

thanks chaps!

have now got a few ideas......

watch this space - as I might need some c&c before final submission! :)

I forgot to turn the flash on

Belated birthday card?

Old person portrait, very emotive when teamed with the word forgotten.

That was the first thing that I thought of. Could work with a portrait of a homeless person maybe as well.

Also a list of things with everything but one crossed out as if it had been forgotten.

Shots of things that have been left behind like an odd shoe or a childrens toy which you sometimes see abandoned on the streets.

thanks - all these are great ideas! :)

I'm off out this afternoon, so may have something to show later!

Take some gritty B&W photos of tramps/homeless people

:agree:

They can really be societies forgotten, that and old people. Maybe try and get into a care home?

I think I'm a bit too wimpy to take photos of the homeless :( I'd be worried they'd either have a go at me or chase me or something horrible :shake:

it's something I'd love to do though, as they always look really interesting and I think would make fabulous subjects.

You could always buy them a hot drink to say thank you after you've taken their photograph. Personally I don't consider photographs of the homeless a disservice as you are highlighting their plight.
