Anyone used one of these neoprene protective wraps as sold by Calumet, Domke, et al? Seems to be a square of non-scratch material with velcro fastening, with a multitude of uses, mostly wrapping bodies or lenses.

I'm looking to buy something to protect my D40+35mm F1.8 when I want to take it out in a non camera rucksack, the tea-towel I'm currently using isn't particularly elegant, even if it does the job admirably. Have looked at Camera Armor, but it appears fairly fugly.

Anyone using a wrap for a complete outfit, if so, what size and how is it? Or have you used Camera Armor and want to defend it?

Even better, I use an Optech neoprene pouch (d-midsize) for my D90. Fits well with a 16-85mm (and anything smaller obviously!;)). Highly recommended. Go to their site for a full run down of sizes.

Camera armour is fine for its intended purpose - I use it at work on our cameras. Wouldn't recommend for casual use.

Very interesting, thanks for the tip! Will investigate ASAP...
