PS3 / Amazon "refund"

I wouldnt be surprised, It'll probably come out that a CS assistant refunded off his own back or its from a marketplace seller.

It wasn't from a marketplace seller.

Amazon weren't taken to court - the initial CS request for more information on how they planned to handle the firmware 'upgrade' was 'passed to the appropriate department' and the next I heard was the account adjustment.
 
Well, your refund has been mentioned on a lot of news sites. Can't see it going to a mass refund though. Think you got lucky.
 
Yup. I've seen a couple of other people say they got similar treatment, but obviously as more complaints come in the response to them gets more formalised. The next step is going to be for someone to get Trading Standards involved - if a precedent can be set that way, then the floodgates open.
