PSE6 Scanning - Max File Size?

Morning All

Trying to scan in 35mm negs. Even at 2400dpi (~6MP) is says it won't do it, as the maximum file size has been exceeded.

Scanner is Canon 4400, PSE6 on XP.

Any ideas? Obviously I can scan them in as TIFFs using canon's software but I wanted them as PNGs really so it's adding an extra step .

The only thing I can think of to minimise your workload is to use Canon's software then use a batch tiff to png convertor:

That one is a 30 day trial version so if you can't get all of your work done within 30 days then maybe a further google search for batch tiff to png freeware might give you a longer lasting solution.
