Hello!

I've been asked to take some pics of my local pub for a xmas card/ calender, so I guess some snaps of the locals looking local and the staff. Wanted to do something original but stuck for ideas, can anyone help? ideas, work to look at for inspriation?? :help:

Best bit of advice I could give, would be to try and catch the atmosphere of the pub, ask a few people why they like the pub and what there favourite time of day is there.

Then try and capture that aspect and that time and everyone should like it :)

Cheers Luke, thats a great advise. The pub has a lovely atmosphere with some great locals, but It's not been my local for very long at all. Maybe I'll have a drink then get snapping!

Get a santa costume and hang it over the back of a chair, then take a picture of a fat guy with a white beard, profile shot, sitting on a stool in the empty pub, at the bar drinking a pint. The custume just behind him on the chair, out of focus, but visible enough to make out the red and white.

That's what I'd do.

if it is a calendar aswell do they play darts , dominoes , pool if so some action shots maybe

for the card have a word with a few femla bar staff to do a topless image but sat behind a chair so nothign is showing

we had one from our area but they used bar maids for 12 diffrent pubs

Don't forget the building, if its a quaint old job a night shot out doors with lights showing through the windows might be nice.

:suspect:

One of everyone smoking outside could be an interesting new years eve calendar shot :D

I did a series of exterior shots of the pub I used to work in (20 years ago) using a home-made pinhole camera. The owners really liked them and they used to hang behind the bar. Not technically brilliant but they had a really nice aged look to them that suited the pub.

get them all to dress up in dickensian stuff...if possible
