Pumpkins and halloween

Anybody carving any pumpkins this year? I helped the little miss wisemen with hers then had a quick go of one of my own.

Never done one. We used to use nackies or neepie luntirns as we called em.

Did you use stencils to do these and can i ask what you used to carve them

I copy from a stencil but use a fine marker to draw the pattern on the pumpkin. Cutting, I use Swiss Army knives, big blades, little blades and the small pointy scriber thing.

No photos of the one my wife did a week or 2 ago. Bought and emptied for the flesh rather than the lantern. Delicious soup and risotto as well as loads of tasty toasted seeds! Looking forward to next week when they'll be giving them away after begging with menaces night.
