I need to invest in a new computer to replace my old HP desktop. I've been looking at the Punch Technology website at their Best Value Photography Computer which I think will fulfil my needs. Has anyone any experience with Punch Technology?
In the 1980s I was assigned a desk and in one of the drawers there was a manual 7 hole tape punch. Beautiful gadget but the only way I could try it out was to slice up a sheet of green lined printer paper.I can remember storing BASIC programmes on punched paper tape at college in 1978, if that helps![]()

I don't know Punch Technology, but that seems a decent spec of PC. How tied to Windows are you? You could get a Mac Mini M4 and a 2TB drive for less than the £899 of the Punch machine...
I use an M1 Mac Mini and it handles everything I throw at it, both for photography and music. The new M4 version won't even break a sweat.
Yes, although the first time you set the Mac up you'll need a wired keyboard as it won't be connected to a Bluetooth one.Apologies for interrupting your thread Ian.
That’s interesting Kerry. I’m thinking of switching to a Mac. I assume I could use my existing screen and keyboard?
