Question about after the SLR fires.

Edit My Images
Yes
I use a SLR at times, and I am happy so far with the results, not perfect but happy.
So I send the film away to be processed, they do the processing and scan, then send me Jpegs that I can edit as I please.
Now although the photographs were taken on film, are they now considered digital?
I ask because, if I enter these photograph in a comp for digital, do you think that would break any rules.
Or should I just keep the two separate

That must depend on the rules; but unless you are required to send physical prints, the submission would of necessity be a digital file. On that basis, there could be a presumption on the part of the organisers that if they do not ask for prints, then the images would have been produced in a digital camera - otherwise the word "digital" in a competition title would be superfluous. Of course, that assumes the organisers thought it through, and I wouldn't personally be surprised if they hadn't.

If you're thinking of the challenges on TP, then digital means taken on a digital camer, whilst film means taken on a film camera.
In the old days of film but once computers and software became available, ie circa 90's, people still used Photoshop to edit the scanned negs, but no-one asked about the camera type.

So in short, on TP my first sentence applies.
In other competitions, it's up to the organisers to specify in their rules if they want to exclude or explicitly restrict entries.

I will have to ask next time I am at the club, I have entered scanned analogue photographs before but it was in a portfolio exercise.
At the time I did say that they were film photographs, and the president was totally happy with that.
But that was just a fun night to show things we had been doing.
