Question on Sony alpha 350

I bought a sony alpha 350, and although ive been using it for just 3 days, ive noticed, that most of the photos ive taken so far, arent that focus, they are very soft, ive increased the sharpness, but still its soft, not properly focused. And its really annoying me, so any ideas on what i can do about it??

Does it have to do with the ammount of megapixels this cam has and the small sensor that its being crammed on ?

Do you have any examples you can post?

Do you use the eye focus or the half shutter press method? I used to use the eye focus but found that it used to miss on many occasions so swithched to the half shutter press method.

Is any part of the image in focus? It shouldn't allow the image to be taken if nothing is in focus.
