Hey

I was after some advise! Im a beginner within photography and some of you may have seen my posts in people and portraits!
Well recently I asked for some volunteers to have some portraits done (for free obviously) but natural and not posed in anyway, and a friend of a friend said they would like some done so said they would have some images of their choice for doing it for me if they liked them!
So the question i would like to ask is why then did I get someone that said they liked the natural style and then I get there and they want posed family portraits!!! How do I explain that I wanted to do natural pictures without being rude or should I just get on with it and be thankful for the practise? The thing is I HATE posed with a passion and then this reflects after :(
To be honest I think im having a bit of rant :bang: and throwing my toys out of my box so feel free to ignore me ;) lol

 You are allowed a rant! You have just experienced a life lesson in that people only hear that which they want to hear! In this case, that you would do free portraits ;) Give em what they want, practise doing what we hate often gives us lessons we can then apply to our loves

Oh Tina you are definetly right!! Consider that life lesson learnt!! Although all my friends are great and let me practise alot I want to practise with people who dont know me and challenge me more! So hard! :( but nevermind :)

Why not kill two birds with one stone.... Do what they want & then suggest the "un-posed" shooting to them.. They then might like what you suggested ...

Tis only worth a try....

well i did but and got some gorgeous shots but i think they were a little upset that i didnt get all the children looking at the camera and smiling at the same time, which frustrates me when they are all under 5 hmmm lol

I would say do them, pick up some learning curves and best of all, you get to keep them into a portfolio.

There has been a few situations I have turned down or pictures I deleted because 'I' didnt like them........but that doesnt mean other people wont like them.

Some one told me dont just shoot what you like, shoot things that other people are going to like to.
