Rain effect

Hi,

Ive tried to create a rain effect on one of my images. however the rain either looks unreal, thick, too much or just white blobs.

Can anyone help? Does anyone know any good tutorials that i could follow to achieve a realistic raining picture of a tree around landscape.

Easiest way to create rain is:

1. Create a new layer.
2. Fill it with Black.
3. Run the noise filter.
4. Run the motion blur filter
(play with the settings of both these filters to get desired effect)
5. Change the layer blending style to 'Screen'.
6. Change the layer's opacity to suit.
