Last weekend I headed into the Welsh forests for the first time this year. a fantastic day weather wise and loved the dusty nature of the stages. Unfortunatly I didn't get as many angles as I would like, because Dyfi Forest is always challenging with it winding round the side of the hill, so planning and knowledge is key with sun position. Quite hard when you don't have maps of the stages! Must have walked at least 2 miles to find the spot at the hairpin and pretty pleased no one else appeared... not much variety with cars, 90% escorts then batteries ran out (was astro photographing the night before and it sapped one of my batteries!) just as the 4WDs were coming through on the second run!5G4A7026.jpg5G4A7320-Edit.jpg5G4A7541-Edit.jpg5G4A7997.jpg5G4A8180.jpg

Opps just realised I should have posted this in the Image critique section rather than the talk section - sorry.

I'm not a fan of motor sport, but these are great pictures.

I also took some at 1/50s or lower at the hairpin too - just didn't post in this thread as the cars are a bit small in the frame. In hindsight I should have tried some slower stuff on the slightly more zoomed in hairpin images - I think they were at about 1/160 to capture a bit of detail in the dust.5G4A7167.jpg

slightly slower speed pan than the white escort above, captures the speed a bit more, but personally i prefer the angle on the one above!
