hi all, this may be a stupid question but while looking through my raw files i noticed some have in the top right corner something that looks like a lens others don't have it. the only thing i have done is converted some to jpeg. can anyone shed any light on what the image is and why its there please, thanks brian

Are you viewing in Canons Zoom Browser? My wife has a 7d, and all her raw files show a lens as described. Strangely, I have a 1D mk iin but that does not show a lens.

Not a stupid question at all - this bothered me for ages. If you use Canon DPP software you get that lens icon in the thumbnail image if you have any of the following lens corrections applied to the image...

Peripheral Illumination
Distortion
Chromatic Aberration.

If you click on the 'Tool' icon at the top left of the page, you can then use the third tab along marked NR/Lens/ALO to select or desleect any of these settings.

What CT said. Although, without sounding like an elitist ****, it took me 30 seconds to figure out when the lens icon appeared as it correlated with the action I'd just done...

thanks for all the replies, just got in from work and am going out again so will look later, see what i can find
