Yes
Just bought a used camera that has loose rubber grip at the front.

It is not at the very side where it would be easy to just dab a touch of glue.

Is cheap super glue the wrong stuff or it is best to get a different type of glue.

I could just leave it be but its one of those things that just bugs you.

Anyone had experience doing a re-glue of the rubber onto the body

I repaired the grip on a friends camera and used contact adhesive (evo-stik) Just spread a thin layer on each surface let it dry to tacky state and press together.

I can vouch for the evo stick contact adhesive . It will stick sh**e to a blanket

The only cautions I would give with using glue vs tape is that if you ever need to replace the grip due to wear, as I did, it will be a swine to remove. You can buy the grips as a spare part for most canon dslr's, probably Nikon and other brands too. Additionally some cameras require sections of the grips to be removed to disassembly for repair. Gluing them on will complicate this process.

Finally, if you do go the glue route I would also test it in a very small part first in case it attacks either the plastic or the rubber.
