How do I read Exif info in pictures? I downloaded Exifview but it only works on my own photos. Is the info lost when photos are posted on the web?

It depends on how the picture was saved when it was put on the web
 
If you are using Firefox use the Fxif add-on and it will allow you to read exif in pictures (as long as the exif has been added).
 
From a previous post, seem to remember, & have checked it out as true. If you use the "save for web" option strips off the xif, if you resize say to 800 px, then choose save as jpeg, reducing quality as necessary to keep the file size within limits, this will leave the xif intact. :)
 
Is there a free exif plug in for MS IE?
