Apologies for such a stupid, yet genuine question....

Looking to upgrade to a K5 which does video as well as everything else....

I assume a 16Gb SD card, is what it says on the label and don't need a video specific one, which seems to be the rage nowadays - appears that lots of SD cards are now branded as 60 mins or 120 mins etc....

Not as far as im aware off, its mainly about the speed of the memory card, mines 150x and ive recorded 720p video of it with out problems, not sure whether it is justmy pannasonic fz38 or the size of my memory card but video was limited to 30 minutes.

fair enough, I knew there were things such as SDHC - K20 tops out at 16Gb but also now SDXC cards (Extreme not high capacity) which the K5 will cope with, but seems to be cheaper to buy a 32Gb card than it does the "minute" equivalent. .... that's marketing for you!

From the manual -
This camera uses either an SD Memory Card or an SDHC Memory Card
(commercially available). Both cards are referred to as SD Memory Cards
hereafter. Make sure the camera is turned off before inserting or removing
the SD Memory Card.

i like the way the put hd video on the card and charge extra for it,

Same as external hard drives - the western digital one specifically labelled for the mac was (at the time) £99.00 - the non mac one, which was completely compatible but doesn't have an apple on the front of the box cost £60
