If these parents are so worried about their kids you would think they would said them a better example than threatening a complete stranger. This is really going to make them a better person. Failing the luger get a tripod with spikes on the end, aimed well and you could take out 3 with one quick thrust. The last one would probably leave upon seeing his 3 impaled comrades. Thankfully I have not had any of these issues and I do take the odd subtle candid.

I'#d of taken phone out, dialled 999 and told them you were being threatened by 4 lads and gave a description over the phone. They would of run off, then just inform the operator they have they.

a) avoid them by doing shoots at times which avoid scrimshankers like that

you'd be suprised how many people in responsible positions have been convicted of possesion child pornography too.
i have been aproached by someone in a park asking what i was doing.
i explained briefly that i was taking photos of the 6 band members i was with in full on METAL costume .for their website.
not his jammy faced kids, who were actauly BEHIND ME.
and inccidentaly, would i be likely to take photos of his kids wearing a jacket with the name of the photography company plastered all over the back of it ,AND using a sodding great DSLR?.

If after phoning the Police they say they are too busy to send anyone at the moment, phone them back a minute or two later and say not to bother as you have shot your assailants but could they arrange for the council to come and remove the bodies, I bet they are there pretty quick.

If the fellas continued to follow me about, I would confront them too - explain to them that I had thier photo, and I wouldnt hesitate in sending it to the police. Being a totally hansome 6'5 220 lb slab of a chap, I dont normally get any issues with people wanting to get heavy
I'm with you, but not all of us are tall and built like rugby players. I don't normally get any issues either, but for different reasons than yourself.

Secondly, why are people complaining about P****'s when they let their kids run around a beach butt naked, which when I confronted a parent who let their kids do just that I was promptly told to f off....
People really do need to learn that they can't have everything their own way, and would be the first to cause a stink if anything happened to their kid

the chavs do much worse anyway, they are children of parents who scam benefits which is officially illegal compared to taking photo's, worse is that I live on a council estate full of the scum.
The only reason I've ever been approached by people asking what I was doing whilst out taking photos is purely down to their curiosity. I've never actually been accused of being a paedophile but if I was then I'd simply ask them what I have done to give them that impression, listen to their answer, then offer them a business card and show them a copy of my driving licence to prove the business card is mine. If they still had a problem with me then I would offer to sit and wait for the police to arrive to sort the situation out.
While we're sitting there waiting for the police I'd then have the opportunity to show them some of the photos on my camera. Obviously none of them would be inappropriate photos of children so hopefully they'd reconsider their idiotic questioning of me and **** off!!!
Although having said all that, I'd much rather be able to get a gun out and shoot them.

This is not the first time I've heard of this or a similar approach which probably involves disclosing your address. I'm guessing the people who kick up a stink and approach you with a view to running you out of the playground are not the sort to be disclosing any contact info to, as they're just as likely to pay you a visit after a few bevvies one day.
You need to weigh up the situation accordingly, and maybe you can get a decent conversation going and make allies of them, but more likely is you'll tell them to mind their business (in whatever way you see fit) or make your own swift exit.
My suggestion is go to the park early in the morning when the chavs are probably still in bed, or find a better class of park where the parents have probably been educated properly

It's a ****** situation, but when push comes to shove, you have to ask the question "where do I want to be in five minutes time?" Sounds like the OP made a sensible choice on that basis, regardless of how unpaletable the antisocial whatnots are.

Our ex-chairman, however, was almost assaulted at one game by some thug who demanded that he stop taking photos as he thought there was something wrong in it. Shook him up badly, it did.
As someone said before in this thread, I dont think I would have had the same response and that is down to people's views relating to gender and a complete lack of understanding about sex offenders, sex offences and keeping kids safe, not to mention a distinct lack of common sense.

I've no doubt a real P**** at a park of kids is a genuine risk. I think half the problem with the idiots is they are there with their "partners" and it's a show of bravado for them. I have my own theory on why they might need to display bravado to their partners but it's not suitable for sharing on TP.

in all honestly i dont know how id react if someone accused me of being a pervert or suchlike.. id like to think i would have told the woman in the OPs post that statistically she was more likely to abuse her children than i was and like someone earlier said about calling the police yourself and say youre being threatened.
but who knows until it happens.
